The Little Engine That CouldSaturday, March 6, 2010, 2:00PM Strand Theatre
Watty Piper’s The Little Engine That Could is one of the greatest tales of motivation ever told! Powered by his well-known refrain “I think I can, I think I can” and YOUR HELP, the Little Engine overcomes seemingly impossible odds to carry a train full of toys over an imposing mountain. Colorful trains and life-sized toys come alive on stage to teach children about the power of optimism in this interactive, inspirational and all-around entertaining production.
This is the first time this legendary, all-American tale has been adapted for the stage! But the fun can’t happen without you, because you are a PART OF THE SHOW! (60 minutes; recommended for children ages 4 to 9)
STORY READING/BOOK SIGNING
Local children’s author Connie Sprenkle will read and sign copies of her book, Enjenny, before THE LITTLE ENGINE THAT COULD at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center on Saturday, March 6th. The performance begins at 2:00pm, with story reading at 1:15pm. Enjenny is the story of an engine of a little train who fears she is about to lose her job to a bigger engine, Enjim. Find out how they work things out and BOTH win in this story of pride, compromise, and self-satisfaction. The author will also be signing and selling eight of her other published works.
