Q. Why won't my log-in work?
A: Before calling, please check to see if any of the suggestions above will help.
 
Q: I read your ticket return policy. Is this true?
A: Absolutely! We will cheerfully refund tickets if you are unable to attend an event...for any reason.
 
Q: Where are the ticket prices on the Web site?
A: At the top of the performance description page they are listed in bold. Also, you'll notice two "buttons" (Select Your Seats and Best Available) under a "Reserve Your Seats" heading, at the bottom of each individual performance description page. Click either of those buttons and you'll see ticket prices. Strand-Capitol members must log-in first, during a member only on sale period, for those two buttons to appear.

Q: Where is your online seat map?
A: Go to Season At Glance, click the "View a Seat Map" oval button and then double click on the seat map image to make it larger for viewing.

Q When will I receive my tickets in the mail?
A: Your tickets should arrive NO LATER THAN 2 weeks before the event. If you've not received your tickets, and the performance is less than two weeks away, please contact the Box Office (717-846-1111).

Q: Can I use my money “on account” to order tickets online?
A: To utilize "on account" funds, please contact the Box Office by phone (717-846-1111) or in person and a representative will be happy to help you.

Q: Can I order gift certificates online?
A: Yes, if you go here http://www.strandcapitol.org/giftcertificates/ , you may order any amount you like, include whatever greeting you like and even have it sent directly to the recipient… all online!  And, your recipient may redeem it online, too!

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Q: What are the box office hours?
A: Monday - Friday, 10am - 4:30pm.  The "virtual" online box office is, of course, open for ticket ordering 24/7.

Q: How should I dress/Is there a dress code ?
A: It really depends on the type of show you are attending. Rock, stand-up comedy, contemporary music concerts, movies and CapLive are typically more relaxed and casual.   For Symphony, Broadway, family, dance, and certain music concerts in the Strand Theatre, business casual is a popular style.

Q: Are beverages allowed in the theater for Strand-Capitol performances?
A: Yes,although there may an occasional exception required by the artist. Gulping before the curtain time or at intermission is no longer necessary! Feel free to bring your beverages into the theater and enjoy them while you're enjoying the performance.
 
Q: Do you provide assisted listening devices?
A: Yes. They are available from the coat check room for any performance.

Q: May I bring a camera or video/audio recording device?
A: Typically for most performances, these items are not allowed by the performers.

MEMBERSHIP QUESTIONS
Q: I became a $150 (or higher) member online. Will I receive my ticket discount immediately?
A: Please allow 24-48 hours or up to three (3) business days for the membership to become active. We are working to shorten this period and appreciate your patience.

Q: If I buy tickets, am I not a MEMBER?
A: No, “membership” is the term we use to identify those individuals who make tax-deductible donations in support of the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center.

Q: Why don't  I receive discounted tickets with my $50 membership?
A: Discounted tickets is a member benefit of the $150 membership level or above.

Q: Why should I donate?
A: Ticket revenue covers only 70% of the cost of presenting shows; the rest comes from generous individuals, corporate sponsors, foundations and organizations, who make annual gifts that bridge that 30% gap.

Q: What’s in it for me?

A: As a donor, besides the satisfaction of knowing you have played an important part in securing the growth and vitality of the Strand –Capitol Performing Arts Center, you will also help fund community-based education and outreach programs. Q: How long will I receive my benefits?
A: You will receive benefits for one-full year from the date of your donation.
 
Q: Are there ticket privileges included with my benefits?
A: Yes, absolutely! Depending on the amount of your tax-deductible gift, you can enjoy early access to purchase tickets before the general public, enjoy a 10% discount on up to four tickets per show, and receive free tickets to our Capitol Cinema series.

Q: How do I become a MEMBER of the Strand-Capitol?

A: Make a donation online here, talk to our box office representatives when purchasing tickets, or mail a check to the Attention of: Development Office at the Strand-Capitol at 50 North George Street, York, PA 17401.
